Knowledge Transfer
- OGS Procurement Services Group, with 60% of its work force
retirement eligible, has initiated regular training sessions
aimed at transferring critical program knowledge to sustain

- Where applicable, DMV has rehired retired professional staff
on a part time basis to ensure a smooth transition and provide

Shadowing
- OGS establishes "shadow" positions (temporary duplicate items
or project positions) to enable the successor to learn the job

- Civil Service has identified several crucial positions where
the long-term incumbents will be retiring in the near future.
To ensure a smooth transition and the transfer of knowledge,
the Department has established project positions to allow time
for the successors to learn the jobs from the soon-to-be retirees.

- OFT is establishing temporary duplicate items to enable the

- SED uses "shadow" positions for Vocational Rehabilitation
Counselors title. Shadow positions are filled with new staff
prior to current employees retiring, so that there is a transfer

- OTDA is using a variety of development strategies over the
next 9-12 months for employees with Individualized Development
