The Positions
Internship proposals are submitted annually to the Department of Civil Service by New York State agencies. Each proposal is reviewed by a Selection Committee to determine if the proposal meets the standards set for training, development, and leadership opportunities. Approved proposals are accepted by the Public Management Institute and made available for review by internship candidates.

- Agency Operations
- Focuses on the respective mission of each of the participating agencies. Interns in this track work on issues that relate directly to the principal responsibilities of a particular agency.

- Participates in the preparation, analysis and justification of budget requests as part of the State's budget process.
